Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

This summer we had the misfortune of our existing 55 gallon getting cracked. Luckily tanks were on sale and I was able to pick up a 75 gallon. I went with a center Island this time, got rid of the river rock and went with sand. the girls are able to swim through the middle of the island under their basking rock. I made myself a spray bar, which i love.

Looks good. What kind of substrate are you using ? The tank also looks a little bit bigger that 75 gallons. Do the turtles have a clear path from one end of the tank to the other?

I am using black aquarium sand. They can swim through the island in the middle. I have a gap on the bottom with two large rocks making an arch that the rest of the island is on. It is sold in the store as a 75 it's only 6 inches deeper that my previous 55 that was otherwise the same dimensions.

Can they fully turn around in there? Plus, they really like squeeze into tight areas.

What filter do you have? I see you're using the wire shelving too. :)

I am using a sump and vacing the bottom regularly. I was thinking adding a power head on a float switch to suck off the bottom.
