Habitat - Indoor :: UVB LIGHT COVERING

my eyes are starting to hurt really really bad, is there some sort of covering from the uvb light =/ i know my turtle needs it but ya ....... =/

Ive seen people make a sort of covering with aluminum foil or something but i dont know how dangerous that would be. But since the UVB doesn't get too hot, it shouldn't be bad at all. The lights are only on in the daytime...is it really that bad? =)

Where is your tank located? How do you have your light positioned over the basking area - straight down or angled towards it?

I know ours never bothers us, but we rarely look straight at it (which you aren't supposed to do anyway) because it's located in a room with little traffic.

i use aluminum foil, i tape it to the rim of the lamp, works just fine for me!

Do you have it hanging vertically? What kind of UVB light is it? If it's a compact flourescent, I've been using the dome fixtures with them and clamping them to the side of the tank nearest me, with the light facing toward the wall. The dome hides the light, and the only time I would really see it is if I got really close to it from the side...
