Or I'm reassembling it wrong. First time changing it out since I got it at the holiday. Now I had to downgrade to Jebo Internal Power Filter 101 (hard to tell it's even working, but grateful for the back up). George seems OK with it.

Can't imagine how I'm putting it together incorrectly. The guy mentioned something about the plastic button at the top of the canister, up or down, not sure which, but have tried it both ways.

I'm not sure if anyone here uses that filter. It should simply work if it plugged in and submerged. If not, then it might be broken.

This is my 3rd filter in nearly 5 months! The only one I like is the first and smallest one I bought: Jebo Internal Filter AP112F.

A good canister will last years. Mine are 10 years old and still working well. It's like a large tank.. I can easily get my money back on my used aquarium I bought a few years ago. These are big investments, but it's worth it.

I told the lady the filter is no longer working. She said, "Well you changed it, but, bring it in." Like, of course I change her water weekly. I am used to taking out the filter, cleaning the sponge, and putting it back together. Can't wait to find a good filter that works and is powerful enough for her tank. Taking it back tomorrow to see what they say.

Update: apparently the device is very sensitive in terms of taking it out and putting it back in. Must submerge canister, then plug in and slowly submerge rest of device so as not to flood the motor. When removing, unplug first! Only then: slow remove from tank.
