Sure there is recourse off Amazon. It's a pain to get to talk to someone, but the usually try to correct mistakes. Worth a shot because you really shouldn't have to pay for others mistakes. If that fails, let your credit card company know to dispute the charge. If you have American Express, I think they offer additional protection.

Oh no! Call the person that sold it to you from Amazon or contact Amazon!! I had the same thing happen to me on e-bay. The guy I got it from sent me a new hose! They have to stand behind what they sold you. Don't give up be polite and I bet they will send you the right hose. Its supposed to be 10'or 12' long. I don't remember for sure. Keep on em! If they don't or won't work with you call your credit card company. Your protected!

If it's off ebay (I know this is not the case here, but for reference) do talk to the seller. If its an individual and not a company, maybe they can credit you. Lastly, you can dispute it with PayPal. They are a pain, but usually side with the buyer which is not always right or fair.

If Amazon fulfilled the purchase its 100% covered. If it was a third party seller you will need to contact that seller. I buy all kinds of stuff from Amazon and have never had a return issue. If Amazon sells you something and its broken, missing parts etc they will give you a free return label. I try not to buy from a third party seller because their warranty can differ from Amazon's but most give a 30 day warranty. If you have problems with a third party seller your also protected by Amazon's A to Z Guarantee. Let us know if it was resolved.

That's crazy! Was it marked as new on Amazon? You can file a claim with Amazon to either get that money reimbursed or get the entire thing replaced.

I was an idiot. I didn't take the whole filter out of the box because I just saw the big thing left in the box and the little hose on top. I took the big tank filter out of the box and it was wrapped around it. Oops!

So the short hose was an extra? That's strange!

Yeah. I haven't put it together yet, but I don't see in the diagram where on earth it goes.

That's too funny!!! That small hose hooks up to the drain valve on the bottom of the fx6. I don't use it and forgot it even came with it.

I believe with the FX6 the short hose is used for the purge valve.
