Hi all, i have received a turtle from somebody who is moving away. I know nothing about setting up an aquarium so i with the use of gogle - fu, found out what I can. Unfortunately I have brought already this set - up before I found out about this forum. Can you please let me know if I have done it correctly.
His eyes are also swollen so i have brought him an eye drop. Appreciate all the advice you can give. Thank you!

His eyes look very swollen. When was the last time he ate? Stop using the UVB lamp until the issues with the eyes is sorted out.

2 days ago was the last time i saw him eat something. Should I really stop using the lamp? When I first got him, I think I might have put him in a tank with water which is heavy in chlorine.. I have bought a tarta drop and tried to put it into his eyes with a cotton bud as per the instruction. Please advice i am worried now. He is in a tank filled with bottled water.

Everything has a return policy - Can you return the tank and buy a different one? And you'll need a separate lamp for basking too. Can we get closes ups pics of him?

Here is a close up pic. Eyes are really swollen and sometime mucus are coming out of his noise. I don't have money to send for vet.

Did the eye drops work? What kind is it? He won't eat if he can't see and at his size, he won't last very long.

It somehow helped. It was an eye drop lotion given to me at the pet shop. His eyes started to open and I am helping him eat. He has eaten a lot today. Small dried shrimps. Shall I feed him daily?

Yes daily. No so much shrimps, more pellets (best possible brand you can find).

Thank you steve. I will buy pellets then. Shrimps is all he has been eating I think.
