Habitat - Indoor :: Basking area material help

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

It's worth a shot. An ATBA is honestly ideal with the limited space to go bigger with tanks. I'm not sure I will be able to get much assistance on it, but I think if I look at enough designs and such I should be able to figure it out.

Its pretty easy. Have you looked at the basking area section? The most important part I think is making sure your turtle can't get out. I'm a strong believer in lots of water in a tank. So to me atba's are great. Does your tank have a plastic surround on top? Most do and you can make it fit inside the plastic lip. I'm more than happy to help you if I can. Send me a pm if you want.

I have, rather enviously in fact. There are so many really amazing constructs there. Chi tends to be a climber when there's a proper basking area (she's the offender of moving the rocks so much the basking area took on water) so making sure they can't get out is very important. Also making sure the cats can't get in. Isis tends to try to stand on top of the tank and watch them; I'm not sure what she would do if she could get her paws in there.

Both tanks half lips but the 75 has a convenient divider halfway across the tank so I should be able to get away with making only half the top of the tank into an ATBA. The 40 on the other hand doesn't have a convenient divider. I may have to cut netting for the top even though I have a lid.

For now I'm going to put Mango and Painter in the 75 with the platform I have so they have properly circulating water and an ok basking platform. I'll probably put a temporary basking platform in the 40 so I can get Chi into a tank with properly circulating water too. Then I should be able to work on the ATBA. I believe I have some wood that I can use for it. Thank you so much for the offer to help too. I'll let you know when I get it started.
