Habitat - Indoor :: Penn Plax Reptology Floating Pier Buoyancy Issues

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hello there, fellow turtle owners!

I have just recently switched out my old DIY turtle dock (made out of PVC piping and egg crates) with a store-bought turtle pier - Penn Plax Reptology Floating Pier Large Size.

It works alright but the problem is that water would start filling up the dock when both of my turtles are trying to get on it. The dock wouldn't be completely submerged but the corners would be tipping in slightly, as if it's going down like the Titanic.

Is there a quick DIY to get more buoyancy for this type of turtle dock? I don't really want to use styrofoam because my turtles rip apart anything that is in their tank. Both turtles are 5 inches in length BTW!

Thanks in advance :) :msgreen:

Here's a pic of the dock I'm talking about:

I have no idea, anyway you can weigh it down a little? Maybe a medium sized river rock?
