I took my Zoo Med 501 filter apart to clean and put in new carbon bag. I paid close attention to taking it apart so I could assemble it properly. I have re assembled it 5 times and it isnt pulling the water up from the tank. it worked well before I took it apart. anyone have this type filter?
can you help me?

I don't know anything about those filters, but does it need primed? Some filters have to be filled with water before turning them back on, it's how it gets the flow started.

What was wrong that it wasn't running?

The only reason I ask is that others may have the same problem at some point.

Glad you got it going!
