Habitat - Indoor :: Homemade Tank?

Has anyone built their own tank? Turtle is 5 yrs old, currently in a 55 gal tank. I want to buy a new, bigger tank but all I could find were longer ones that didn't seem to be wide enough for her. I want her to have lots of room. I am thinking of building my own tank but have no idea how. If you've done so how did you do it? Any tips would be great.

If you want to use glass, you might want to go talk to someone at a glass shop, they might be able to do it for you, or know how to do it.

my brother helped me build a 120 gallon tank... ok, he built it based on my blueprints. its 5 feet long, and 2 feet wide and the glass is 3/8 inch thick. he also installed a GFCI outlet and he also built a steel stand to support the tank with adjustable casters.

when he has the time, i'll make him finish the custom hood

so you need to know someone who can hanldle glass and work with silicone. knowing someone who can weld steel is also recommended!
