I have some large rocks from my yard, do I need to do anything special to introduce them to my aquarium. Any special cleaning? Thanks ahead of time :?

At least rise them off, I would recommend bleaching them AS LONG AS you can get EVERY LAST DROP of bleach off of them before you put them in the tank. I am no expert. I would also recommend waiting for someone with more knowledge then me to post before you do anything. :D

What I did was boiled the rocks. Put them in a pot with just enough water to cover them, (you may need to do a couple batches if you've got a lot of rocks) and then boiled them for 10 mins, then changed the water, and boiled them for at least another 10 mins. That was kind of overkill, I think, but it was my mom who suggested it -.-'
And make sure the rocks are completely cooled off before you put them in the tank! It takes a while, but if you put them in there steaming hot, the rocks could crack, the water temp could shoot up in your tank, or your turtle could hurt itself.

I also boiled the rocks that I put in the tank from my yard. I think this clean them in case of pesticide residue, and kills any possibly harmful bacteria or protozoans.

Baking works well too. However, where I am from we have a lot of sandstone, and those options aren't an option for me. I've heard that the heat will cause the rocks to explode. Made me want to experiment, but I don't want to wreck my mom's oven!
