Habitat - Indoor :: Another lighting question...

Post Posted: Mon Sep 11, 2006 9:50 am   Another lighting question...

I need to replace my current UVB tube light. I was curious about the Exo Terra Repti-Glo 8.0, if anyone has experience with this one, let me know. Or if you have a better recommendation, I would appreciate it. I'm currently using a Reptisun 2.0, and it's time to replace it. Thought I'd get a better bulb and this one states 33% UVA and 8% UVB...

Why not go for a ReptiSun 10.0?

I can't figure out the difference between the two, except the 2% increase in UVB output, and it's $8 more... If there's other differences, let me know. I'm trying to get the best for my buck

I use the repti glo and I have never had any problems with it. The shop where I buy mine even shows you with one of the UVB meters, the output of UVB. Of course, that was when it was brand new. I replace mine every six months. One of these times I am going to take an old one in and have them test it...I'm curious.

Thanks for the input Jen and Missi.
Is the shop you get yours from a pet store, Missi? I'm curious too about mine too...

The place that I go is called We Love Pets. To my knowledge they don't have a website. I know of locations in Zanesville and Marietta. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Thanks Missi, I'll check around at my local stores to see if they offer that.
