I should say so! Lol. Well that's good. You're lucky your turtle has such a wide range appetite. My Sheldon doesn't. He plays with anything that isn't lettuce or pellets. Lol

Bubbles will eat anything that isn't nailed down, except dandelion greens. He won't eat those. Unfortunately that means I can have any fish with him, either. They would gone the moment I put them in the tank.

Keep an eye on him then. As Sheldon and I learned - even basking platforms can be "tasty" which leads to vet visits, mineral oil enemas, and force feeding via syringe stuff that will push stuff out.

No problem. Just something I'd never have to worry about and then it happened. Most important is that you love your turtle and you do what's best for them.

Here is Penny's basking area. I learned after I set it up that it should be smooth, but It works so well and fits the tank, I'm reluctant to change it

Why does it have to be smooth? As long as Penny uses it, you should be good. :)

I think the concern is the rough rock night cause scratches to the shell. I would keep an eye out for that. Looks nice and if it becomes a problem they could use a grinder to make it smooth. I'm more concerned about the pebbles and lack of water!

Curious what you mean by lack of water.

There is 6" of water, about 30 gallons. Should there be more?

Heck yea. Think about a turtle in the wild. In rivers and lakes. Anywhere from let's say 2' to 100'. We keep them in a small tank so if at all possible the least we can do for them is give them as much water to swim in as possible. That's why a lot of people build above tank basking areas. 6" is not near enough water for a animal that lives in water. It would be like putting a goldfish in a bowl with 2"of water. Doesn't sound good if you picture that! My 40 gallon is full. My 300 gallon is 2' deep. They love to swim its what they do.

It might help with your algae problem also. You own a 90 gallon tank fill that sucker up Brian. I'm Stacy.

I'm learning too. Of course I got in neck deep before I really started asking questions. She seems happier now than she did in the 40 gallon and way better than the 20 gallon starter kit. The tank I have now is a Zilla tank with the side opened up for the pump, so I can't fill it too much more. I will be keeping my eyes open for a more suitable tank.

Yea that tank is not good. Look for 1$ a gallon sale at Petco or pet smart. I thought in another thread you said you had a 90 gallon? I could be wrong. I also got in over my head trust me I know how that is. I have learned tons here your in good hands.
