A Full 24 hours like the lady at the pet store told me to it also says it on the tube lol. And yes I wad looking on eBay and there is a bunch of oddysea and sun sun filters on there just trying to decide, any you would suggest? I wanna save up and get a stock tank and a fluval fx5 or fx6 but that's gonna take me some time that and I live in an apartment so I can't have anything to too big I wanted to get a 110 gallon stock tank for here.. my ultimate goal once me and my boyfriend find a house is a 600 gallon stock tank lol right now thats just a dream in the making xD I'll have it one day!

I would lean towards Odyssea more than Sunsun, but neither are perfect. What floor do you live on?

Bottom floor lol I'm lucky , I have my 55 here and a 35 and I know neither are perfect I wanna build my own filter to be honest . Get like a 500 gph power head and use a 5 gallon bucket if I get a 110 gallon stock tank that's probably what I'd do , plus I have my magnum , I'd just put everybody in one tank cause everyone is small , my biggest is 5 inches and my smallest is an inch and a half , and I have a softshell and I saw an awesome idea of using a milk crate as a separate area for a Sofshell so the bigger turtles don't mess with him I had him 2 RES and my Mississippi map all together but then I got a 35 gallon tank that came with 2 turtles , one being 3 and 1/2 inches long and the other being 5 inches Long , it wasn't right for them to be in such a tiny space , so I put my two smaller turtles in the 35 gallon and I've got my 4 bigger turtles in my 55 gallon , I've got my 5 in midland painted my 2 three inch RES and the 3 and 1/2 inch common map in together and they all get along fine ! But I'm hoping to get a bigger tank sometime soon !

Can anyone tell me why his shell looks like this ??!?? It wasn't like this when I got him and it just recently started doing it , it almost looks like his plastron is turning like a hot pink and I'm not sure why

He's a Mississippi map . Probably about 6 months old

I'm not completely sure about maps but on RES it could be do to fast growth or some sort of irritation from the basking area or substrate.

I don't have any substrate now , and my basking temp is about 87 and it's just a zoomed basking dock :/

My friend has turtles and she said it just looks like normal growth marks

But I thought I would ask around here . He basks normal eats normal swims normal , he acts completely fine . Just had some discoloration on his plastron . Kind of puzzling :/

How does the carapace look?

His carapace is normal . He sheds and everything , I think it might be my basking Dock irratating his plastron cause it's rough

Had to go out and buy a new 300 watt heater cause my fluval exploded for like no reason .. I did a water change made sure everything was unplugged and I waited until the heater was left in the water long enough to match temp before I turned it back on but I was looking at my tank the other day and it was like all shattered . Idk it was weird . So I took it out . I was without a heater for a day then the water was freezing put it in there and the next day the water was too warm . I turned the heater up too much lol at me I'm a blonde , so I took the chance to do a half water change and changed my filters cause my water was funky and now eeverything about where it should be thankfully ! I'll post pics in a few !

Can't hurt to shoot them an email. Some heaters have lifetime warranties.
