what kind of ramps did you use?

They are homemade from Acrylic. The ramp itself is 6 inches wide, and I cut up a 1/4" square rod for each of the steps. I glued them together using silicone, and I made the angle by gently melting it with a creme brulee torch. I have some pics of the construction if you're interested =).

the rocks look pretty good. Just make sure they're nice and stable. Turtles will surprise you with how strong they are. You dont want one of them falling and crushing your turt.

your 2nd pic shows that you have a lot of gravel & i would advise you to take at least half of it out. it'll be a lot easier to clean with less gravel. :)

I would take out all the rocks and raise the water level. Right now, you have two turtles in what looks to be quite a small tank. The rocks and things are not only taking up swimming space but they pose a possible threat to the turtles' health if they are ingested.

I would also add a UVB light as it looks like you only have a heat lamp. You can find these at any pet store.

I would also get your turtles checked out. From the pictures they look like they have some sort of shell condition.

This is Buddy's new home. It's a 55 gal that we got at walmart. The ATBA is 1/4" plexi sheets. The green carpet is that reptile habitat carpet stuff. The 5 stakes sticking out of it aren't permanent fixtures. They were just there helping to form holes where I included some drainage holes in the plexi base. The ramp is a zoomed dock fixed to a piece of plexi with aquarium sealant. That piece of plexi is zip tied to the ATBA base. The UVB is in the hood over the ATBA. I had to fashion the frame for the top of the ATBA since the hood was just slightly not the right size for what I built. The heat lamp is on the left side of the ATBA shining in to it. I hate the filter....the wife doesn't like me telling her this but it's gone within the next month. The only problems I've had with this is that the humidity builds up in the ATBA rather quickly. But Buddy is dry when I see her basking so I think it may be ok. Also, Buddy is able to flip the ramp completly under the basking base so I've got to rework the attachment.

Looks like everyone has very nice basking areas for their turts. I also have an above tank basking area for my turts as well. All made out of egg crate with plexi glass surrounding to keeping my turtles from escaping..... they seem to enjoy the new look!

The pictures only show the UV light, but I do have the heat lamp as well.....just not in the picture.

Hey I am looking for a good way to use my 20Long critter cage aquarium as an ATBA, I'm trying to be somewhat eco friendly. I bought a 50 L for $60 at a local pet shop, and yes I did buy a lid because Sam likes to escape. I was wondering about how I could use it for a basking area, maybe. Also, do you have ramp ideas? Now, it doesn't have to be reusing the tank, I was just hoping I could re use it somehow, but if I can't reuse the tank, then I'll try selling it on craigslist or clean it out really good and try to get a pet store to take it, since I still have all of the original tank boxing and labels and everything. I can always use it for a feeding tank too. Anyway, just thought I'd ask for ideas.
