That is really cool. What material did you use for the way up to the basking area?

Hi. I used plexiglass for the basking ramp. Then I bend it a bit for easy climbing and I glue all the small river rocks with silicone glue. It also as a resting ramp for my turtles after tired swimming. hihi...

As you can see the white clear 'lines' is a silicone glue, where I just used that glue as a stairs for my turtles to go up at the basking area. :D

Hi FrancineMarie.

Material that I used to make the basking area is wired (I get it from hardware shop). Its a thin wire that sometimes people used it at their gates to prevent stray dogs or cat from enter the house  I don't know about other places but here at my places people used it. By the way I do spray the wired with pink color just to make it pretty.. hihihi..

Other than that is plexiglass for the basking platform and ramp. I glue all the surface with small river rocks and decorates with some plastics flowers. Thats all I think.

thank you for replying! did you buy your plexiglass at a hardware store too? when i saw your pics i noticed that it looked like you used silicon glue as traction for the turtles. you must have used a lot of silicon glue for this project :P. awesome job though!

Thank you FrancineMarie.

Owh yeah.. of course I used a lot of silicone glue~! hihi.. 2 tubes atleast.

Yup I used it as a stairs for the ramp to climb up to the basking platform. I think the silicone glue works well because its a bit sticky and I think is good for turtles to step on it.

My next project after this is to buy new large tank for my turtles and expand the basking area for more room..

Rosepruner look at pics of indoor setups, they have really creative ideas on ATBA's. I'm really not sure how you could use another aquarium without cutting out a side of it to accomodate the turtle entering it. Plus it would be heavy so you would need support underneath it.

Here's my setup, just finished it and set the heaters in the water so the turtles aren't in there yet, still waiting for it to warm up just a bit.

Thanks, the ramp is plexiglass with cabinet liner stuff surrounding it - it's a vinyl feeling roll that I just cut to the size I needed and glued it on.
