And thank you to those I didn't quote for the wonderful compliments!!! The tank is still working out great. It's definitely a focal point in the room as that is where everyone goes when we have visitors. :D

I wanted to make the underside of the basking cover a little reflective and keep it a bit cooler as well. First, I applied some glue.

Grabbed the Aluminum foil from the kitchen (don't tell my fiance!).

Lined it up and used a roller to smooth it out.

Then I trimmed off the excess (sorry for the blurry pic).

Hi there TheBean,

I just want to know, what do you mean by using the aluminium foil to keep it a bit cooler?

I just using the aluminium foil to cover the whole cages (Top is open as to allow the UVA n UVB bulb rays) of my turtles basking area, I tot it could keep the heat so I using the aluminium foil. But then the temperature not really heat up, is dat mean the foil is to make the area cooler??.. I'm so confuse. :D

The foil helps to disperse the heat from the bulbs away from a central spot on the wooden lid. It doesn't help to keep the area cooler, just the wooden lid (it also helps to reflect the light downward). Instead of one hot spot on the bottom of the lid right where the bulbs are, the foil spreads that heat out some.

Owh yeah. Thank you~! Now I understand, maybe I need to adjust the position of my basking bulb as to spread all the heat in the basking area. Thank you again~! anyway great job of doing your turtles indoor pond~! :D

I was wondering, if you don't mind me asking, how much your whole project cost including the price of the stock tank?
