Here is my basking area I made for Lizzy.

I cut the egg crate so that is fits VERY snuggly against the tank.
(Lizzy will find spaces and try to sqeeze between them)
I sat the egg crate on 5 pvc pipe legs attached with sillicon and reptile liner sits on top of the egg crate. I zip tied a ramp to the basking area. (Lizzy has used this ramp for everything BUT going to the basking area)

Since Lizzy hasnt used her basking area I added reptile plants. She has been shy in the past the use of plants seems to help her. I was VERY excited when I completed the platform but Lizzy doesnt share my excitement. She hasnt used her basking area yet. :(

I REALLY love your choice of wood. Have you had any problems with the wood warping or molding?

I made some changes to Lizzy's basking dock. She seems to like it a little better.

UPDATE: I put Lizzy's old basking dock on top of her new area and she has been basking like she normally did.

She is even basking with me in the room!! so happy!!

After lurking through this forum for a bit I decided to try my hand at making an ATBA. Built the frame in one night using scraps and random materials I found in the basement and I painted and hand laid all the gravel this weekend. I'm just waiting for everything to cure so I can test it out. While I was at it I finally got rid of all the gravel I was using as substrate and replaced it with sand....soooo much easier to clean and it looks better. I'm using a Fluval FX5 filter and a Rena Thermic Smart Heater 200 in my 75gal tank. Going to post pics tomorrow night once its all set and on top of my tank!!!
