Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Driftwood or cork make a great addition to a turtle tank. My RES destroy and bite everything, so at least they're doing it on something natural.

very good point the more natural it is the less likely it will be toxic!

small update the driftwood is holding up nicely and the hollow end has become a safe heaven for 16 guppy fry that were born last Thursday night.

Thank you Elisa, it provides my turtle the most natural feeling spot to bask, only if I could make his surroundings look like the Rio Grande River Valley, lol;)

The algea on the driftwood is growing at a steady rate suppling food to the algea eaters, and giving a nice color to the wood. I will get pics of the branches soon;)

ah, I see how you put your UVA/UVB light. I'll have to do that so I don't blow another one. Bleh! I'll be working on my second piece of drift wood today and tomorrow. I'll update my thread, hopefully I get it done this weekend. I have my wife's baby shower today so I'm trying to fit it in between that.

Some pics after the driftwood has been in the tank for a few months. Sorry the camera is crappy but you can see the green hint in the wood (that's the algea). He hangs on the under water branch to look around and sleeps hang on to it. The stuff floating around is the plant matter from his greens.
