New tank setup, placement by the window allows natural sunlight for them to back under, they love it!


Old, They only had the lamp for Heat and light

That basking area you have needs to be a bit bigger? I think teh third one is gonna fall off. And I am hoping teh window is kept open when its sunlight time! UV will get filtered through glass.

This is the Basking Area I built for Hurley. The ramp and deck are made of egg crate, I fused them together using a soldering iron.

It no longer has the green slip guard and the statues, and I consolidated the lights with a Mercury Vapor Bulb.

The green stuff is probably shelf liner, the white grid is a light diffuser, sometimes called egg crate.

wow is that made out of plexi glass? was it hard to cut?
how'd you seal it? I want one like that!

Ya its plexiglass. I had it cut to the sizes i needed, most places like home depot or lowe's will do that for you. I used aquarium silicone to seal it together, wasn't to bad of a deal. Just need to be patient and allow it time to set up before you move it. I let mine sit overnight before putting it on the tank since there was some toxic smell to it before the silicone cured.
