Come to think of it I'm pretty sure your foam pads serve the same purpose as bio balls and rings. Maybe just add some carbon to that filter. You said your running 2 filters?Just make sure you clean all your media in tank water no matter what you use. Carbon will need replaced at least once a month. I wouldn't just fill the filter with rings or bio balls they won't trap debris like the foam filters will.
Yea a magnum 350 pro (which I can get a carbon container for , I think I might ) and I'm getting the cfs 500 and yea it's just I can get bio balls and ceramic rings and such cheaper . Like I could use filter floss carbon and ceramic rings as an alternative . But I replace the rite size filter pads in my magnum once a month , cause the turtle gunk sticks to them and make it impossible to rinse them in the tank water , I'd have to super hose them off with my sink faucet lol , and that would kill all my good bacteria , so yea . The foam filter pads for a cfs 500 I can get off eBay for $8.59 I think I'm not sure lol . Either way I'll figure it out .

this is a size comparison of my map turtles lol , the bigger one is about 8 months old and the other one I just got , and I hours have another one on the way cause when I first ordered them I got them by one get one free , and one of them passed away so they're gunna send me another one , I spent $50 on them like I better get another one !
