Thanks, Kansasslider - looks like she'll be stuck in temp. housing until it warms up a bit. I was told the basement and family room are off limits until the fall (they are packed with my parents' stuff).

steve - Now that my dad got it in his head that it will weigh too much (over 500 pounds), he's insistent that the tank be placed on concrete. I do think it will work better in the long run, as I'll be able to put more than 40 gallons in the tank!

I'm fine with being safer than sorry but the floor will be fine unless the house isn't structurally safe. If it's going out back, you should have gotten a larger tank :)

Steve has a great point! If you do put it on the concrete floor you might consider a larger stock tank :-) So its not going outside?

(Housed in the same tank)

300 gallon indoor stock tank, FX6 & FX5 filters. Mega-Ray 100w UVB bulb.
