Hopefully this summer I can build a pond at my mom's for my bigger turtles, they'd be so happy . It'll be about 200 gallons so that'll be a good summer home . It'll also be sort of a garden on one part . So they have fresh veggies whenever they want :) plus some Duckweed in the pond it's self . Also has anyone ever tried to use a pool filter for a turtle pond ? I can pick up a 2500 gph filter relatively cheap . Just wanna know if anyone's ever tried it ?

I'm sure pond filters have been used, you just need to take the proper precautions. As for building something only 200 gallons, I'd probably go with a stock tank if you're limited in space.

Yea I was also looking at 300 gallon stock tanks because i cabt fond any 200 around here but could I put one of those in the ground ? I know there's a drain plug , but could I still? And a pool filter is made for outside so as far as safety I'm not too worried about that, just trying to find something that's not gunna kill my moms electric but still keep the water clean for my babies , maybe I can figure a siphon out that would be continuous without electricity? I was thinking about that for my tank now if I could build something that didn't require too much electric or none at all it would have to be lower than the tank for the siphon but higher than the tank for the return to just automatically flow so idk unless I staggered buckets and made sure they were sealed so that when the water rose it would just flow back out of the return , if anyone understood that lol . I have to draw it xD but throw me some pointers or constructive criticism! I'll take any tips and hints I can get :) I wanna make it a focal point of my moms yard !

You can put it in ground, though leaving it above ground helps it stay cleaner and make it easier to protect. As for the filtration, there's really not many shortcuts you can do.
