Structurally, its pretty stable. He tends to lay in the same little spot directly under the lights. I was always wondering how effective the ramp would be, and now know that he has no problems getting up on it. If I were to make one again (and I probably will) I will make it much thinner, and incorporate it into a partial atba...but that's a story for another thread.

One more thing though Steve, I've noticed that since i finished his new setup and adjusted his diet by adding jello shots every other day, that now he almost shuns the pellets entirely as if he's waiting for me to put some jello in instead. I also noticed that several of his scutes are on the verge of shedding. Should I be doing anything for the scutes, or looking for anything in particular while they are still partially attached? I have no Idea because I've never noticed him shed any before and some are probably retained scutes.

Are they thick layers? It's usually only the thick retained scutes that causes problems.

Well, the ones that appear to be shedding on marginal part of the shell seem to be relatively thin (thinner than a finger nail). The vertebral scutes seem to be a bit raised and contain old scutes and are slightly thicker. The pictures here are after he was out of the water for a few minutes and the shell was just starting to dry.

If they're all progressing like the ones in the photos, I think it's fine. You do need to make frequent checks though, and gently press against it to look for any water seeping out.
