Fantastic! Bean will be very happy.

BTW it took a week for the sand cloudiness to clear up in my tank. If you have the eheim fine and carbon filter pads rinse them out. It helps.

Thanks y'all. I'm absolutely wiped out. I'm so tired I can't feel my face......wait......oh...no there it is......

But I digress, a WEEK?!?! Dang. That's a huge pile of stinkie. I do have those pads installed in the filter along with carbon, gravel, and these little ceramic tube looking things at the bottom to catch the bigger stuff.

A good rest for a job well done. (Cant feel my face - haha - You reminded me of the Joan Rivers Geico commercial)

On the water - try a water clarifier too. Might speed it up.

Well, I checked on the tank this morning and it's just about clear! Think I'm gonna dump Bean in there when I get home.

Is that an upside down turtle dock? It looks great and that one basking bulb looks energy efficient. So your helping Bean and the environment too!

It's not upside down, but it is turned around backwards. It's ghetto but hopefully it will work. ;)

Because the tank had become so much clearer, I decided to get Bean out of the bath tub he was in and go ahead and put him in his new home. He is one FREEEEEAKED OUT turtle and not in a good way. With all of the noise and movement and all of that around the house in the past few days, he's just stressed and flips out whenever I walk over to the tank. He'll come out of it and calm down. May just take a few days. Anyway, here's the best pic I could get cause whenever I'm near the tank, he stays on the bottom.

He also has 9 gold fish in there with him. We got them for him for a treat but he only ate one of them. That was about 2 months ago! He's not the least bit interested in the rest of them. Maybe he will be one day. At least the fish clean his tank for him.

Very cool! Once he settles down, I'm sure he'll be a happy boy :)

Just for next time - Gold fish aren't very good feeder fish. They're fatty, and often carry various nasty parasites and whatnot. Best to stick with guppies and minnows :)

Yea, learned that after we bought 'em. He ain't eating them anyway. They swim right in front of his head and he doesn't even try to bite or chase them. They're just part of his habitat now. Kind of "cleaning fishies."

That is so great! The color of the sand is so pretty. It looks so soft. No wonder he likes to stay at the bottom. The water cleared up so fast and looks super. Be proud of a job well done.

Maybe a hiding nook (plants or a big pot) would make him feel more comfy until he gets used to the new dig. Mine stayed hidden for several days. Now he is more social than he has ever been. Even with the tank in the kitchen (with the kids around alot) he is hiding less and coming to the front o the tank a lot more. I guess a happy turt is more social.
