Habitat - Indoor :: NEW TANK !!!

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Males have extremely long nails and their tails are quite long as well.. If they are 4 inches or bigger you should be able to tell.. Females have shorter nails and their tails just come past the shell.. From the Pics if Wiz is 4 inches or larger he looks like a she..lol

We had a small RES like Smalls that was wild in our pond out back.. We called her Ambie (Amber) and she was my favorite as well.. Even though she was wild I have a feeling she was a pet released.. She wasn't afraid of us at all.. She loved to come up the bank to us and have us scratch her back.. We picked her up all the time and she never was bothered by it.. I miss her every day.. But I just couldn't take her away from that beautiful huge pond and stick her in a tiny tank.. She knew her way around and was mating and everything.. So we left her there.. Hopefully one day we can get another RES... I really want a female so we would have to wait till they are old enough to sex and right now we don't have the space for a turtle of that size let alone two..lol
Great pics.. I think the soft shell is beautiful too..

Crap day for me , I woke up to my 55 gallon tank leaking all over the place !! I drained it completely and found out the seal was completely ruined , so that's what I've done all day is drain a tank peel the bad seal off and reseal it :( so now I have 4 angry turtles in a like 20 gallon Rubbermaid container for the night and they are not happy .. Good thing I'm gettin a new tank soon !

That's horrible! What brand is the tank, this is the new one? Was there any warnings?

You should be covered under the warranty, though I wouldn't mention that you're keeping turtles in there.

I got it from Craigslist lol , so I didn't have a warrenty on it , but I bought a tube of marineland aquarium sealer and sealed it , it's not the prettiest work but it will hold until I get a new tank , I want to get a 75 gallon . Me and my boyfriend are waiting till tax time to do so we can get everything for a 75 that we need , on the mean time my 55 will have to hold ! Which I'm sure it would , I made sure everything was sealed , I'm gunna check it for leaks tomorrow and if it's still leaking , I'll reseal the spots that are leaking and wait another 24 hours lol . In the mean time my midland painted is enjoying the Rays he's all splayed out lol . My mom said he looks evil , he comes to me when I talk to him lol . Image

They look pretty comfy in the stack :)

Unless all of the inner seal was removed, that tank won't hold water for long. Good luck with the 75 gallon hunt!

How long did you let the silicone cure? Which Sunsun? Also look into Oddysea filters from Aquatraders.
