These are pictures of two habitats I recently established. The first two pictures show a basking area made of cement board, which hangs overhead by two brackets. The ramp is attached with screws, thanks to my Dad, who assembled this for me (but I created the design).

I used PVC piping to anchor and suspend the filter from above, which allows for a wide open swimming area below. I used more PVC to create a bar from which the lights hang overhead. I placed rocks on the cement board to give "Lundquist" a place to dry off completely. For the most part this habitat is complete but I want to get a better filtration system in the future.
The third picture shows home of "Kitty The Wonder Turtle", who has thankfully overcome malnutrition, a respiratory infection, and an abscessed wound. "Kitty" had a rough start but is thriving much better these days - so much stronger! Yippee!

I made this basking area and ramp from PVC, acrylic, vinyl, and a milk crate. I clipped the top off the milk crate to suspend the uvb bulb 12 inches above the dock. The basking light hangs overhead from an adjacent shelf. I clamped the light to a ruler and anchored it with a ten pound ankle weight - it's not very pretty but it works.
Both habitats are 110 ten gallon stock tanks, which I personally prefer over a glass aquarium because I find them easier to clean, more affordable, and more private - again, not as pretty but these habitats are located in a remote location of the house.
I've really enjoyed viewing everyone else's pictures - so many interesting and creative ideas
