Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I figured when I put the ATBA on then I could fill it. Right now I put any more water in there, he'll climb out of the tank using his current in tank basking pad. lol

I'm just getting curious about building something is all. ;)

There really isn't much to building one. Might have taken an hour to drill the holes cut the wood and screw it together.

Your little topic looks great. Where'd you buy the plexiglass? Does it just sit on the inner lip of the tank top?

Thanks for the help. :)

Bought the plexi at a glass shop pre cut. Yes,the whole thing sits inside the tank on that plastic lip.

If the stand is particle board, I'd be extra cautious. If you like the looks of it, maybe have it reinforced. So many of these tank setups look great.

Thanks Kansasslider. I'll keep that in mind.

It's not particle board and it was meant to hold a TV but I'm not sure how equivalent that is to a tank full of water. Thanks for the reinforcement idea Steve.

Hello! This is Midori's ATBA: it's basically made from an old 10 gallon tank with one side removed ( it took a few hours trying to hack out the silicone ) and the pieces of a rubber floormat for the ramp. It's not that fancy, but he seems to like it.

Is that off to the side of the tank? I'm looking on my phone so I could be wrong. Lol

It's next to the tank/tub. Here's another picture.

I had a hard time figuring out a stand for the basking tank, but eventually settled for the blue container. Inside are two lidded boxes full of textbooks and a wooden artcase wedged on top as the tank's platform.

Hello!
I am babysitting my sisters 4 year old RES turtle whilst she is away at uni so decided to upgrade his tank as he is getting bigger. I plan on buying a larger tank too as he is already 5 to 6" but for now just want to give him a better basking area and need to know if I am OK using bricks, wooden logs from outside in the tank? I also have laminated wood from a shelf I took apart. Do they affect RES health? Or disintegrate etc? I want to create a platform to bask. Obviously I would wash the items.
Thanks for the help, I'm a complete beginner at this but have been researching as the little guy is pretty amusing :)

Here's my new 125 Gallon Mario theme setup:

I might have to fix the ramp since he doesn't seem to get enough leverage going up it. He did magically get up there while i wasn't looking though, not sure how :?:

Silverfish7 - That's a very nice idea. No way out and lots of room to play. :) Thanks for the other picture.

turtbot - I think that if you cleaned the items - no disinfectants unless you can really rinse the them off - you could use them. Can you post a current setup pic?
