JFlick8 Do you have the basking area mounted to the wall? I love the look of this but my tank will not be against a wall and with kiddos it would need to be secure so I was wondering if you secured it to the tank or the wall? Thanks!

I might have to fix the ramp since he doesn't seem to get enough leverage going up it. He did magically get up there while i wasn't looking though, not sure how :?:

WOW! That looks so cool!!

Thanks all, he's never been happier! Well worth the effort, someone's got to have a big house if I can't. I think he appreciates the space to swim in full stride. I did have to make the ramp longer last night and i'll see how he manages with it. I also might change the light from a 75W to a 100W and see if he likes that better. He's still kind of sketched out when I place him up there. He just turns around and jumps back into the water.

He'll do that until he gets settled. I know Sheldon thought I was crazy when I put him on his for the first week. lol

Looks great! One question thought.. why do you have all those bricks in there?

It's a super mario theme (nintendo video game background) and it's actually functional because he uses the top brick to rest half his body in the water and head above water. He also likes to sleep on the top stair.

I see.. Just seems to be taking up a lot of swimming space, but to each their own.

It looks like it does in the last picture, but it's just the water making it look narrow from above. It's actually quite wide. I definitely kept in mind not to put design over functionality, thanks for the comment tho 8)

Thank you!!
The whole thing (without the rocks) weighs about 15 pounds. I just lift right off the tank for a deep clean or lean it back to the wall and prop it up for a quick clean or to get to the heater, internal filter, and the canister tubes.
