hi, i have 2 turtles right now, one is 2 and a half inches and the other is 2 inches. i know its too early to tell if they are boys or girls but i think one is a boy and the other is a girl. well just in case they are, what should i do if i find eggs, i know it wont start happening for a while but when i do what do i do. am i suppose to take them out of the tank because theres no dirt in it. should i take them out and burry them or what, please help.

If you have a female, and if when she's mature she becomes gravid/ has to lay eggs, you should build a nesting area for her to lay them in. When an adult, she will lay eggs whether or not she's mated--the eggs just won't be fertile if she hasn't mated. It's important that she have a proper nesting area because without one, she may try to retain eggs, which could rupture inside her. If she lay's eggs and there's a chance they could be fertile, it's up to you about whether you want to incubate them. Some people destroy them to prevent having unwanted turtles.

Did you look at that link? (Especially read the info below the 4th pic that starts with "Preformed ponds..." It gives info on what to use.)

marisa, thank you so much for that link about nesting that you posted. I have been researchin about nesting and breeding because our male turtle has forever been trying to mate her and she could be pregnant...
We have a smaller tank around 10 gallons that we created for nesting we only need to make it better and good then we can probably put her there. Anyways, I'll read the link.
