here is Dumbledore, Voltamort, Crush, and Squshie's new basking area. I finaly got my husband to help with it. only problem is that i can not get them up there. i did steal the idea from another post, sorry but i realy liked it. now to get them used to it. i do have a piece of plexi glass at the edge so they can not get away. before i had it up there i set one of my turts in the box and she jumped off the box at the edge right into my hands. the water looks darkcause the lights inside are off.

Looks great! It took a little wile for ours to go up the ramp. You might have to angle the lamp so the light goes on down the ramp. Then once they start getting up on the ramp. Move the lamp again. Hopefully this helps. Good Luck!

I just built one similar to that and it took my turtle about 2 days to figure out it was safe. He did go up there for a few seconds soon after I put him in his new home but he didn't return to bask for another 2 days. Now he's in there 2-3 times a day lounging.

Nice basking area. I built something similar and they really wanted nothing to do with it. So i ended up taking it down and just using a floating dock
they love that basking all the time that i am not watching as soon as i get close by SPLASH right in the drink

Very new here... the gold fish. Are they food or friends? Like to your turtles eat them or ignore them?

Any fish you put in will most likely be eaten. I don't think those are gold fish in the pic tho, I'm not sure. If you put fish in for them to eat do NOT use goldfish they have no nutritional value for the turtle. Most use rosy red minnows or guppies.

So, they're used for "food, not friends" but not goldfish.
