I'm curious when everyone turns their basking lights on and off now that we're in winter. I have mine go on at 7 and off at 7, but it gets dark long before then, so it seems kind of unnatural. What times do you suggest I leave it on?

I get all the turts up at 7 just because it takes me 20 min or so to get them all fed and everything and I'm getting ready for work at the same time. My boxie's light goes off at 7 because he's hiding by then anyway. I like to give the girls (res) til 8:30 or so, sometimes 9pm if they're basking. Basically I do what fits my schedule. As long as they get a day/night cycle, they're fine. I do try not to give them more than 14 hours of light but that's just to try to control the algae.

oh ok, well I have them on a timer, so I think for now i'll just keep it 7 to 7 if it doesn't matter too much. Thanks for the help!
