Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

So I upgraded from a 20 gal long to 55 gal due to Petcos crazy $1 a gal sale. My 2, 1.5 inch turtles just LOVE the swimming space but my aquaclear 110 filter sucks. It was great on my 20 gal but on the 55 gal it doesnt really move the water on the other side of the aquarium. It seems all the waste just builds up on the other side. I will be getting the Fx5 in May so im stuck with this filter till then. Is there anything I can do without spending alot of money? Im a total newbie when it comes to owning an aquarium and taking care of fish. Lost 1 tiger barb somewhere in the house while cleaning and transferring from tank. I hope I dont step on it later

Congrats on the new tank! As suggested you can manually remove the visible waste. I also use a circulation pump, but I think that may be too strong a current for your baby turtles.

I huge way to help keep the tank clean is to feed the turtles in a seperate area outside of the tank and put them back in once your done. If your not doing that it can help cut waste in the tank by 50% at least in my opinion.

More frequent water changes will help until you get the upgraded filter.
