Bought some RES's in an old crappy aquarium. Ended up getting this new one and finished setting it up yesterday. Gonna get rid of the ghetto metal thing I'm using for a basking platform once some cork bark I ordered gets here.

Nice, but is that gravel? If it is you need to get rid of it ASAP.

I love this picture of your turtle swimming in its new tank. Looks like its having fun with all that room. I can't wait to get mine set up.

Need to get rid of the gravel. Your turtle can eat it and that's not good. If you want something in the bottom of the tank consider sand.

Just to clarify the gravel concern, some turtles have eaten gravel. Some of it may pass through. However, there are reports of turtles who have had the gravel become impacted in the digestive tract, which can lead to death.

Is it certain that will happen? No. However, since it is possible, most here recommend not taking the chance.

I use pool filter sand, which is cheaper than aquarium sand or gravel.

Definitely something to think about.

And, the tank looks awesome! Does your turtle ever play in the bubbles?
