i was searching for an adequet uvb bulb and lamp, would this be appropriate, or since it says desert, it would not be good for an res? the only reason i ask is because it's cheaper than buying a bulb and a seperate lamp. thanks :]

That light would be fine.. you'd just have to make sure it will be able to fit over your turtles basking area. You do realize that in addition to this light you'd need a UVA source .. that can be just a regular lightbulb but it also has to be over the basking area in order for it to heat it.

i dont think ESU bulbs are good, the fixture would work, but the bulb is kind of crappy, i reccomend a zoo-med reptisun 8-10

I agree with Ellman---Zoo-Med tubes have a better reputation.

And you do not need a separate light for a UVA source. UVB lights also provide UVA rays. You need a heat source, and a regular lightbulb is fine for this.
