I can't raise the tank, it will be on the floor. So that makes a canister filter out of the question.

So what are my options? Anyone else in the same situation?

Did you check your original post? I think there are some ideas there. Canisters can work but it's a bit of a pain to prime. If you use an internal filter, you will need something like a bubble stone to help agitate the water surface.

Why can't you raise the tank. Build a platform by standing 2x10s on end and plywood on top. Real easy to do. Then an fx6!

For some reason I don't get notifications. Sorry. Will go read everything

Why lol? Because I flooded my neighbors 5 times already. Not really me but still. I can't let it happen again. And I can't take a chance that the stand I build won't hold up the 1000 lbs the tank will weigh when filled up

Actually fx6 sounds really nice. I'm still afraid to raise the tank. How do I make sure my stand will hold up the ton?

Just get some cinder blocks to raise it. No need to build something.

You could do block with plywood on top. Block size would be 8x8x16. This is my 300 gal with wood stand.

Wow. What a tank!!!!
I will try building something today.

Steve, this thing will be in my livingroom on a wooden floor. Cinder blocks won't look good lol and might mess the floor up, no?

You can lay down something like cloth or newspaper. Won't look anywhere near as good as Kansasslider's. :)

Thanks Steve. Block just look kinda trashy! But they would work and if one wanted to could cover them with some nice oak or something.?

Omg I just came back from Home Depot and just got done hauling lots of wood home. I'm building a stand. I bought 6 2x12 and 2 pieces of plywood. This will be interesting.

And my plug is most def metric. Looking for a plumbing supply store or worst case scenario I will buy a new plug that's 1 1/2 or some American measurement

But now I have another paranoia lol. What if fluval leaks))))

Its octagon shaped. Kinda? And thank you. I didn't want to trip over a square one while feeding my kids or working on the tank.Trust me its a lot of work every weekend! Water change on Sundays!

Water changes once week?? Why?
Even with my current setup, with a 40 gallon and a magnum hot filter I was doing it once a month if not less often.

Now that I bought a fluval I'm hoping I can go even longer than that. You're crushing me)))))

And what about fx6 leaking? If it does leak, would it be a leak like a few drops every few seconds or will be like a waterfall?
I don't understand how it's made and how it works so I don't understand what will happen if things go wrong

I finished my stand, will post pics later. Thank you for giving me the idea. Doing it the way you described is pretty easy and also pretty sturdy.
