Hello guys,

My first Power sun went out within 10 months, the next one I got went out within 6. I have it pointed straight down on the basking area, I really hate the quality of these bulbs. What are other alternatives for MVB's? I have heard the Mega Rays are pretty good. I was previously using a Powersun 100 watt bulb, what kind of mega ray MVB would you recommend? I'm also open to any other brands that are high quality. I am using a zoomed deep dome, the wiring on it sucks as well, just got done with replacing the entire wire and installed a new switch coz the previous one had stopped working.

Open to all suggestions

Read the reviews on the power sun bulbs on amazon. Sounds like yours lasted longer than a lot of other peoples. I would recommend a 100 watt mega ray. Maybe this year Santa will finally bring me mine!

1 DBT White Concentric Female/ Lucky
1 DBT Male/ Spots
(Housed in the same tank)

300 gallon indoor stock tank, FX6 & FX5 filters. Mega-Ray 100w UVB bulb.

I agree, try the mega ray. To maximize the life of the bulb, let it cool off before you turn it on again. Keep the bulb pointed straight down. Make sure the light fixture is stable. Good luck!

Stacey... hope Santa doesn't drop it down the chimney :)

The funny thing is I actually have a chimney. I will make sure to light a fire in it so maybe ups I mean Santa will leave it on the porch!
