I have a good one I have not come across before. While searching for a tank for my RES someone told me they have a 125 gallon tank for 25 bucks. The problem if it is it is torn down into pieces.

Supposedily the top and bottom black pieces are there plus all the glass. It needs to be put together resealed etc. So how is this done to have a good tank qgain? Take to glass shop? just put the pieces together and caulk the inner seams?

I have looked online with no luck top find anythi ng to put back together as a tank. Good deal if it can be reassembled it ot he tank.

Any suggestions on sites / Assembly / etc?

Thanks

My brother and I put together a 125 gallon glass tank. I'm curious as to why it was torn down. In most cases when you need to reseal, you do not need to tear down. Tearing down to store does not make much sense either.

Is there a stand? Are there rims for it? You will need 2 rims and you might not be able to get new ones if the tank is not a standard size. Any cracks or defects will need to be replaced. If you plan on doing it yourself, you will need to vigorously clean it first. You will need aquarium sealant, probably 2 10oz tubes worth, and a caulk gun. We put everything together and used toothpicks as spacers. You will need 2-3 people to do this and you have to work fast as it will start to cure after a few minutes. You need to apply silicone between the glass and add a bead inside it.

You can also take it to an aquarium shop and see if they will do it, or know someone who can.
