Habitat - Indoor :: Rough Housing Turtle

Hi!

I'm not sure what to do now. First my RES, Atticus, would randomly attmept to dislodge the filter from the tank. He stopped though for a week now at least. Now he seems to enjoy removing his dock. This morning I woke up and the dock was in the middle of the tank and he's under it just looking at me like "Hey mom look what I did!"

Background on my turtle: He's 4 years old and at least 6 inches long. I took him from someone on my mom's church forums who couldn't care for him anymore. He was in a 10 gallon tank I had to buy a UVB light for him since she didn't have one on him and I had a bigger tank donated to me from someone else and bought a canister filter. He's in a 30 gallon now and I'll be getting something bigger soon hopefully. He had some pyramiding when I got him and he's grown a lot and he's been in the 30 maybe 3 weeks now. I've had him for 4-5 weeks.

I'm freaking out because google tells me he can trapped and die under there but I think he's too big for that. Help please!

My RES are a bit rough too and I have to keep their tanks bare. What kind of canister do you have?

Uh I think its the sunsun for up to 75 or 100 gallons. I forget which.

I need to find something else for him to mess with so he doesn't keep doing that. The dock hit the output sprinkler and it sounded like there was a shower on or something. It took me like 2 hours to get it so it was quiet when i first installed it

Did the filter come with a spray bar? That would be out of his reach. You might want to look at another type of dock for him as well.

Yes it did come with a spray bar but i have that penn plex corner dock and when he pushed it hit it.
