So basically I was looking to upgrade my turtle's tank to something larger. I have one of these lying around my house

and I was wondering if these would do the job. It's a 18 gallon rubbermaid container, and I plan to fill it up 3/4th of the way. I'm pretty concerned if these would break from that much water, and I would like some input. just in case I can't post the link, the dimensions are 25.6" x 14.2" x 20.9"H. So yeah, I would just like to know if it could handle that much weight from the water, or if it would be unsafe. I've seen many people talk about how their 50 gallon rubbermaid bows and may crack, but considering how this is only a 18 gallon, I'm hoping for the best. Anyways, any input would be appreciated. I would really like to switch to this bin, as my current box is only filled up to roughly 13cm (I know, his current box is wayyy to small for him and I feel very inclined to help him in any way I can. glass aquariums and stock tanks are much too expensive for me) . This would be a great upgrade in water depth, along with room. Anyways, thanks for reading.

The large size (18.5 by 12 cm) but the single suction cup is only 4.5 cm in diameter. I was wondering if this would be fine for my 4.5 inch red eared slider, I hope it is as it should be arriving tomorrow

It will bow, but you can always reinforce it. It will also eventually crack, so it's really only a short-term solution. If your area has any of the big pet store chains, they have sales on tanks up to 55 gallons for $1 per gallon. Used glass tanks are also great finds.

Other than a tank, which gets quite expensive and heavy, are there any other options? I can't fit a stock tank, I just need something that can hold ~20 gallons of water

What about something like this? I have been thinking about this for the warm months for my turtle.. A little more money but it won't bow from the water and will last a long time..

If cost is a major concern, keep looking for used tanks or stock tanks like the one linked by unclejoe.

I live in Canada, and the prices are much different here. We have a very limited supply of everything, like we have 1 pet store, petsmart. The only thing that comes close is big al's aquarium, but I don't know the price. The 30 gallon stock tank would come close to roughly $50, if it were available. I can get a 20 gallon tank for $40, so I'm not really sure about those. I don't even think I could find a stock tank around here. Also, just a random question, but would I need to buy a stand if I got my hands on an aquarium? Also, is there a way to make use of my old 6 gallon tank? maybe connect it to a rubbermaid container, so that the tank is filled with water, but the turtle can climb out and rest on the dry insides of the rubbermaid? Any ideas?

Did you tell us how big your Turtle is?? That would help.. I am from Ontario Canada and I know what you mean by expensive Prices.. I located 40 g same stock tank at Home Hardware, but you gotta love that site never any prices.. uggg anyway here is the link, but I am sure its more then 31.99 but maybe they have sales come spring time..

I would keep a look out on Kijiji if you you have a local Kijiji site. Just type in fish tanks and see what comes up? Someone may be wanting to get rid of their tank they aren't using anymore.. I find it a faster process if you just type up a want ad, The size you want and what you are willing to pay for it.. Then they send you emails and you can decide.
