George has outgrown her tank.

Right now, during cleaning, she's in a large plastic tub, shallow water, and I must say she seems quite happy!

It's a a warm day, so the water temperature is fine.

No filter in there, so the water is still.

She seems happy, and enjoying the view out the front door.

She swam some laps, took a nap, and is getting a good stretch.

How long can she live in here? I need to get her tank ASAP.

Living and thriving are two different worlds. How big is that tub and how big is her tank? Shallow water can be dangerous if they flip over.

Great point about shallow water. Thank you!

We nixed the idea about the tub.

She's still in a 10 gallon aquarium.

I found one downtown for only $35! Can't remember exact gallon (30?) but it's significantly larger and I want it.

Also in dire need of new filter. Still needs heat lamp.

Nonetheless, she appears to be thriving and happy!

An aquarium goes for $1 per gallon up to 55, or even cheaper if you check craigslist. It really can't hurt to look. Heat lamp... you can use a regular incandescent. Filter is a different story... you can get a cheaper one but it will be inadequate after the next upgrade.
