My heater has salt creep on it. How do I clean it off without doing too much damage? Also, both of my filters have salt creep and weird dry green flaky stuff on the pipes

Try wiping it with some white vinegar. Not sure about the flakey green stuff, maybe dried algae? Can you post a picture of it?

Nvm about the green flakes, just algae. I'll test the vinegar out later. What do you do with hard sand? Like it's stuck onto the plastic

Unplug your heater, soak it in a bucket of water for an hour or two, and scrub it down with a lemon juice/water solution.
