Perhaps this is a stupid question, but I can't find the answer on my heater's box or on this site so i thought i'd ask... do the heaters shut off if they heat the water temp too high? I'm just worried I'll bake my turtle :? .... thanks!!

It should. What kind did you get? Does it have either a knob or dial with numbers which indicate the temperature? It should shut off when it reaches that temp, though it may be off a couple of degrees. A thermometer is very handy to double check the temp.

I think Marineland also makes the Stealth heater. I was stupid enough to let me Marineland Visi-Therm pop a couple of years ago... :(
