hey guys
im planning to get fake plants for my RES and my star tortoise
as far as i noe , so far there doesnt seem to be any problem wif fake plants here
but i jus wanna enquire cuz i read up on a site
tt sometimes when u put fake plants
the turtle or tortoise actually takes a bite at it and eat it and might be quite harmful

i tink fake plants are quite strong right? is their mouth realli tt strong to snap it off?
jus wanna ask did anybody hav any problems lik turtle eating their fake plants?

Just make sure you get the plants that are pretty durable. Some are glued together in pieces and can pop off if your RES is determined enough ;)

They'll bite them but I've never had a problem with the actual bits of leaf coming off. I'd go ahead and get some, or if you're worried: get an Anarchis, Water Lily, or Water Lettuce plant that they can eat.

If you're worried about the fake plants being eaten, don't get any with small pieces, which are more apt to fall off. I prefer plastic ones to the silk ones--easier to clean.

I had a plastic plants that were one big piece and they bit off pieces of it so i had to take that out, then i had a silk plant and one of my turtles took the leaf off and ate it.........it didnt come out till a month later....poor guy. Just watch them closely, hopefully you will have better luck then i did.
