Habitat - Indoor :: Substrate question

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I know that someone on here mentioned using substrate\sand in their tank. I was thinking of using this in my fish tank and was just wondering if it was easy to clean with this in there? Anyone have some opinions on it? I would really appreciate it!

Are you thinking of using it in a turtle tank? Or just in a fish tank? I would deffenitly recomend against it with turtles. Seeing as how they are sure to eat gravel they will most likely eat sand as well.

As far as a fish tank I have no idea. Don't know much about that area, but it sounds like it would work to me. I still think it would be easier to clean with gravel than sand though.

Yeah I was just thinking of putting it in my fish tank. I had heard that once the sand is in there it is just like in the ocean, it don't move. So I was wondering what other people who had used it thought. Thanks kneecole! If anyone else has comments\opinions I would love to hear them!

I think its just a matter of how often you are willing to do partial water changes.
