How big are the turts? How big is the tank? Have you tried the local pet stores? How long do you have before the turts arrive? Most pet stores have at least a few different choices when it comes to basking platforms.

Zoo-Med has a floating Turtle Dock that almost all pet stores carry. Some people hate it, some people think it's an okay product. The main problems it presents is, that turtles can get stuck in the crack between the dock and glass, and that some turtles take bites out of the dock. You can always get a piece of plexi-glass, heat it up and bend it into a ramp. Then silicone it to the tank.

I believe there's a turtle ramp just like this that you can purchase.

why is making one impossible?
I made one out of pvc pipe and only spent $11 on it. It's pretty complex. You could make a simple one for $5. The only tool I used was a little hacksaw that I bought at the DollarTree store.

Before that I used a suction cup shower organizer. You could use an upside down flower pot. One of those white wire shelf organizers.

The basking spots most people use are either the ZooMed Turtle Dock or the Oscar Turtle Ramp. Both have part of the platform in the water so the turtle can climb up on it.
