I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I have no experience with them as far as placement, and pro's or cons, etc. I'm guessing they are used on the basking platform at night, right? Any body using them who could set me straight?
All the ones I've seen and the ones I use fit into a standard 110 light socket. You don't need to use them at night, though they work well with a fluorescent UVB bulb. Just remember that they are much heavier that a regular light bulb, so make sure your lamp fixture can support the additional weight.
