Habitat - Outdoor :: Metal stock tank?

Have any of you ever kept a turtle in an aluminum stock tank? I might have access to a free 100-gallon stock tank. If I can get it for free or cheap, and it holds water, I am taking it... if it's safe for my turtle.

If it has some small holes, do you think that patching them with aquarium-safe epoxy will hold the water in?

i dont know if you can keep your turtle in it, probably can, but my imput....GET IT!!!! lol, thats my imput

They should be OK to use, though I have not used one myself. I'm also sure the epoxy won't stop a leak. You could try a generous application of silicone or have it welded over.

If you can get it free/cheap, get it (and then worry about what to do with it).

I know people keep turtles in galvanized metal stock tanks without problems (am not sure if this is the aluminum you're talking about, but the aluminum wouldn't rust). If the holes are close together, since you're a DIY person, you could just cut the area out and fit it with a plug. Or, if all else fails, get a pond liner for it and use it with the pond liner.
