Habitat - Outdoor :: Getting along

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

I have 2 RES, 2 years old. Never housed together and I am now positive they are both females. They spend the summers in separate manmade ponds outside, inside in aquarium for the winter months. This year we are building a 1000 gallon pond and would like to house both of them. The pond will be 4 feet deep but a walk out which will be completly fenced (don't want to loose these girls). Will they get along? I am always afraid to put them together to test the concept. Help what do you think?

Wow! In a 1000 gallon outdoor pond, I don't think you'll have any trouble keeping them together. There should be plenty of room for the both of them (and a few more if you wanted to).

If they are both females, you'd have a better chance. With a 1000 gallon pond you could also divide it if problems were ever to arise.

Should be no problem.
