How much do the rubbermaid or similar stock tanks cost in the US? I am trying to find an outdoor solution for my turtles here but the cost seems high - thought I would check in to see. A 250 gal fiberglass (not the rubbermaid - can't buy it here) sump is $490 - that is too high - right?
2 RES - greeny and Gwen/Ben (just depends on whether it is a he or a she)
3 goldfish that will probably become food
1 pleco that I hope they don't eat
an ever expanding group of guppies

Well, stock tanks are much cheaper in rural areas. I would consider $490 pretty high -- you could probably find a glass aquarium at that size/price.

Stock tanks are about $150-$200 for the largest size (300 gal) if I remember correctly. Here's a link to one site from a quick google.

Where I am, a 300-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank currently costs $204+. They do come larger (500g and up), however, they usually have to be special ordered.

The $490 price is high---perhaps it's because the tank is made from fiberglass?
