Alright, I used to have live plants in my tank until my turtles though it would be funny to rip off all the leaves for me to clean so I took them out and put them outside. So today when I was getting more water out of the backyard hose, I saw some strange moving things in the box I put the water plants in, it looks like some wormy looking things.

Mosquito larvae. They breed in standing water. Better dump the water out or you will have mosquitoes swarming your yard.

I figure as much. It's mosquito season in California right now so I just wanted to make sure. Dumped the water out and sprayed it with tap water (the chlorine kills then, I'm sure)

Yeah.... I feel uneasy feeding my turtles something I found outside in my backyard and I really dislike mosquitoes so eh.
